A Glimpse of a Classroom Puppet

When I teach puppet building, my emphasis is on how the puppet MOVES, first and foremost. If the puppeteer has excellent manipulation skills, they can make ANYTHING come to life. This emphasis makes my classroom approach super welcoming and safe (you don't have to be a super brilliant artist or builder to be a fantastic puppeteer). It's about PROCESS, y'all! It's about building students' confidence and a LOVE of the arts, and on top of all that, IT'S FUN!
